We are thrilled to announce that under the AMNA-supported Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) health project, our first Awareness Raising event was successfully held at Muflehon School, Kabul, on June 22, 2024. This initiative marks a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to provide essential mental health support to the affected Afghan communities. The event targeted a diverse age group of beneficiaries, ranging from 10 to 30 years old, ensuring a broad impact across different stages of youth and young adulthood.
Under the supervision on Dr. Wagma Amin, Director Health, SHARP-Afghanistan, our dedicated Psychosocial Counselors, Ms. Hanefa and Ms. Rema, led the event with exceptional compassion, skills and the contemporary MHPSS techniques they learned in AMNA’s five-day online training held in April. They engaged the participants through interactive storytelling and creative art activities, fostering a safe and supportive environment for expression and healing. The use of these innovative methods not only captivated the participants’ interest but also facilitated a deeper understanding of mental health issues and coping strategies. We are proud of the positive feedback received and are committed to continuing this vital work with Afghan communities.
